Elaine Whittaker, mother of shooting victim Marvin Harris, is helped into her son's wake service by family members. Harris, 21, was shot and killed as he fled from an officer who had responded to a large group of people fighting. The police shooting sparked  weeks of protests in the River Park community from residents angered that Harris was running from the officer when he fired. Naples Police officer Lt. George Stansbury, who said Harris was brandishing a gun, was later cleared of any wrongdoing by a grand jury.
